Many new clients feel shy before their first massage because they do not know what to expect. A little preparation makes the experience smoother. It is helpful to arrive ten to fifteen minutes early, fill out any health form calmly and speak honestly about medical conditions, injuries or areas of discomfort.

On the day of the appointment, eating a light meal rather than something very heavy keeps the body comfortable on the table. Drinking enough water before and after the session supports circulation and helps the body process metabolic waste products released from tense muscles. Choosing comfortable clothing and turning the phone to silent also protects the feeling of escape.

Most importantly, clients should remember that they are always in control. They can ask for more or less pressure, request extra towels for modesty, or stop the session at any time if they feel unwell. When expectations are clear on both sides, massage becomes a positive and empowering experience instead of something stressful.
